3 Data Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was an Italian polymath whose areas of interest included invention, painting, sculpting, architecture, science, music, mathematics, engineering, literature, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, writing, history and cartography. He is considered one of the greatest painters of all time.

4 Childhood and youth Town of Vinci
All Leonardo's childhood was spent in the town of Vinci. Leonardo had tendency to loneliness, and maybe this is the cause or the consequence of his passion for the arts. This passion is manifested, for example, drawing mythological monsters of his invention. Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 at Anchiano (near Vinci) being the son of Ser Piero da Vinci and of Caterina. While his father was wealthy social position and was in possession of land his mother was probably lowly peasant. Town of Vinci

5 Phase in Florence In 1469, when Leonardo was 17 years old, he moved to live with his father in Florence. At this time, his father, perceiving his unquestionable artistic gifts, sent him to Andrea del Verrocchio’s workshop. In 1472, Leonardo collaborated with Verrocchio in which is his most famous work, the "Baptism of Christ" Works of his Florentine phase: The altarpiece of the chapel of the Vecchio palace and The Adoration of the Three Kings. ¡¡¡¡Hola a todos!!!!! ¡Hola!      

7 Phase in Milán In 1482 and looking for a patron who allowed it to ensure their economic, Leonardo offers his services to Ludovico Sforza. Leonardo emphasizes its ability not only to create pictorial or sculptural works, but also his role as architect and civil and military engineer. It is accepted by Ludovico putting it at his service, thus moving from Leonardo to Milan. One of the reasons he engaged Leonardo is that Ludovico wanted to make a statue as a tribute to his father. The execution of the monument is developed over several years, ending the clay model of the work in 1493 and without that has been preserved to this day. During this time Leonardo developed his abilities as an engineer on various projects for Ludovico, while deepens works on mathematics and natural sciences.

8 Phase wandering The taking of Milan by the French in 1498 is the reason Leonardo left this city. From there he moved to Mantua, then to Venice and then to Florence, the city where he was at the service of Cesare Borgia performing functions of architect and military engineer. In 1505, Leonardo compete with Michelangelo by commissioning a mural in Florence. The two put their drawings and eventually emerges victorious Miguel Angel getting the order. Michelangelo
