1 John Rawls Ronald Dworkin
People make decisions based on a veil of ignorance, they will not know what position they are hold until after the veil is lifted. People will choose the difference principle which allows inequalities to exist but, only if they benefit the least advantaged person. Ronald Dworkin Here the use of an envy-test is applied. Dworkin thought after the veil is lifted people would be envious of what others had. Therefore, everyone is given equal amounts of money to purchase the goods they most want. This system is based on everyone having the same abilities and capacities, however since this is not the case, there is insurance to supplement the “auction” for people with some disadvantage.

2 Right Libertarianism The only morally justified regime is unlimited laissez-farie capitalism. Left Libertarianism Meritocracy as the best political regime. Natural resources should be divided equally to all members of a society. Inheritance is strictly limited.

3 Utilitarianism Seeks to obtain the maximum amount of happiness for the society as a whole. Distribution of goods occurs only when in has some impact on maximization of overall happiness. Pluralism Resources should be allocated based on ability. However, no one person would benefit from all spheres i.e., economic, political, judicial, etc… Strict Egalitarian All members of a society should have exactly equal amounts or resources
