3 File System Hierarchy Files are contained in folders.

4 File Types System Files Application Files Data Files
In Windows or Program File folders .dll, .sys Application Files Part of a program, like Word, for running it .exe, .bat Data Files Ones you create, like a Word doc .docx, .mp3, .rtf, .pdf, etc.

5 The Window Minimize, Restore Down/Maximize, Close
Window working in is ACTIVE WINDOW

6 File Explorer Windows provides 4 folders for personal files: Documents, Music, Pictures, Video

7 Navigating to You Files
The file path indicates where a file is stored on your computer by leading you through the folder and file organization to your file Removable Disk (E:)—The drive name Module 1—A top-level folder on drive E Lesson 3—A subfolder in the Module 1 folder Basics.docx—The full filename of the file
