1 11.2: Multiplying & Dividing Rational Expressions
Goal: to multiply, divide and simplify rational expressions as well as complex fractions.

2 Simplified form of a rational expression -
Means the numerator and denominator have NO common factors. If the numerator and/or are polynomials, factor them ALL THE WAY, then cancel common factors. ** Hint for simplifying: FACTOR EVERYTHING FIRST!! (told you factoring wasn’t going away anytime soon)

3 Examples: Simplify.

4 Examples: Simplify.

5 Examples: Simplify.

6 More Examples: Simplify.
(Hint: Factor everything first!!)

7 Another Example:

8 One example using Division:
Remember: We never divide fractions. We KCF.

9 THE LAST EXAMPLE!!! Remember: We never divide fractions. We KCF.
