3. Why I Picked This Book
I chose this book because it was recommended by some other 4th grade teachers on a website I go to when I am looking for read alouds. One teacher said, “My class gets completely silent when I start reading The Wild Robot and they all groan when I have to stop reading each day.”

4. The Plot of The Wild Robot
The Wild Robot is a story about a robot who finds herself shipwrecked on an island. ROZZUM unit 7134—Roz for short—uses her computer brain to gather information about her unfamiliar surroundings and quickly realizes that she must learn to adapt to her new environment and be wild in order to survive.

5. My Favorite Character
My favorite character was ROZZUM unit 7134, known as “Roz”.
One of her character traits is kind because she is always trying to help the other animals and does not like when they fight with each other.

6. My Favorite Part of the Story
My favorite part of the story is when Roz had the beaver build the cabins for all of the animals who didn’t fly south for the winter or hibernate. She made all of the animals promise not to fight with each in the cabins while they were together staying warm. The animals all got along really well and had a lot of fun together in the cabins.

7. One Thing the Author Did That I Liked
The author had short chapters which made the story move quickly because I always wanted to read the next chapter to find out what happened next in the story.
