Adventurers are looking for a leader to join our creative, playful group. All of our current leaders also help with Messy Church on the 3rd Sunday of the month, so we are hoping to find someone to lead Adventurers on the 3rd Sunday Morning of the month. Christian Aid Week
Next Sunday please come early and bring a full wallet and an empty stomach as we will be selling bacon sarnies (and veggie equivalents) for Christian aid week.
Oakwood Book Club – Children In The Bible Tuesday 16th May, 7.30pm – 9pm, at Oakwood Church, Springwood Road, LS28 2QA Dr Helen Reid leads the session on Children in the Bible: A Fresh Approach by Dr Anne Richards. What does God think about children? What does this tell us about how we should view and treat children today? In re-examining what the Bible says about children and mission, theologian Anne Richards argues that God finds children worthy of call, commission, blessing, healing and salvation. She argues that children are not only deeply woven into God’s purposes but are also makers of God’s story, ‘providers to us of a language through which God’s will for the creation is revealed.’ Interweaving analysis of the Biblical material with stories about contemporary children and childhood, Anne Richards also touches on issues of infertility, consumerism, and neglect.
Please note that we are not allowed to use the equipment in the lower playground and that any children playing there must be supervised by an adult.

Today’s gathering will finish early and be followed immediately by a Special Church Meeting. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, church members will be able to vote on Agenda items.
