Physical features (Involves some part of the animal’s body) Example: The long neck of a giraffe that allow it to eat items at higher elevations

Types of Adaptations Functional How their body works/functions
Example: A cheetah’s ability to run faster than most animals

Types of Adaptations Behavioral
What they do (Includes activities or behaviors that help an animal survive.) Example: Owl’s eating at night since that is when rodents are most active

Types of Adaptations Reproductive How they reproduce
Example: Pregnant armadillos can wait to have a baby until the conditions are just right (up to 4 months after the “due date”)
