1 Lessons Learned by David at Ziklag: Pursue, Overtake, and Without Fail Recover All
This lesson was based on a teaching given at the Healing and the Kingdom Tour with Todd Bentley and Rick Joyner. The main scripture was the book of 1Samuel 30. Teaching By Paul Kaldrovics At Power N Love Fellowship of Virginia Beach Based on 1 Samuel 30

2 Story of Ziklag Ziklag was a part of Judah’s Inheritance
1 Samuel 30 1. Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, 2. and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. 3. So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. Ziklag was a part of Judah’s Inheritance An Apostolic Center Ziklag means ‘triumph in praise’ Our Enemy the devil attacks our praise Amalekites Invaded and Attacked Ziklag Burned Ziklag with Fire Took Captive Their Wives, Sons, & Daughters Devil wants to destroy our praise & worship The Amalekites were a fierce enemy of Israel. Not only did they take captive the families but also burned Ziklag to the ground. Ziklag was a training camp that David had set up for those loyal to him.

3 Story of Ziklag David was Training an Army at Ziklag
Mighty Men Joined David They became Well Trained to Fight the Enemy David’s Wives Taken Captive Ahinoam – means ‘Beauty, Grace, Pleasantness’ Abigail – means ‘My father is the source of Joy’ Our Enemy the devil tries to steal our Joy 1 Samuel 30 4. Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5. And David's two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive. 1 Chronicles 12 1. Now these were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, helpers in the war, 2. armed with bows, using both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows with the bow. They were of Benjamin, Saul's brethren. 8. Some Gadites joined David at the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for battle, who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as gazelles on the mountains 22. For at that time they came to David day by day to help him, until it was a great army, like the army of God. The meaning of the names of David’s wives reveals the intention of our enemy to try and steal our joy!

4 Story of Ziklag David Faced a Great Challenge
1 Samuel 30 7. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, "Please bring the ephod here to me.'' And Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8. So David inquired of the Lord, saying, "Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?'' And He answered him, "Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.'' David Faced a Great Challenge His Men wanted to Stone David David turned to God for Strength David asked God for Direction Used the Ephod for Wisdom Pursue the Amalekites or Not Challenges at the Brook Some of David’s Men stayed Behind Brook Besor – means ‘cheerful joy’ 1 Samuel 30 6. Then David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30 9. So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind. 10. But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so weary that they could not cross the Brook Besor. David’s men were so upset that they even turned against him. David strengthened himself in the Lord and used the only holy article he had in his possession which was the Ephod to seek God’s direction. David’s men were exhausted but only some stayed behind at the brook Besor. The rest when with David to pursue and overtake the Amalekites with the help of one of their servants left behind.

5 Story of Ziklag David Pursues the Amalekites with the help from an Egyptian slave David attacks and Overtakes the Amalekites David and his men Recover All Without Fail David gains the spoils from the Amalekites and shares with All the men Both those who went and those left behind Bless from the 7 Fold Return 1 Samuel 30 23. But David said, "My brethren, you shall not do so with what the Lord has given us, who has preserved us and delivered into our hand the troop that came against us. 24. "For who will heed you in this matter? But as his part is who goes down to the battle, so shall his part be who stays by the supplies; they shall share alike. 26. Now when David came to Ziklag, he sent some of the spoil to the elders of Judah, to his friends, saying, "Here is a present for you from the spoil of the enemies of the Lord'' This Egyptian slave helped David find their location where he could overtake the Amalekites and recover their families. God blessed them and they recovered all that was taken and then God gave them the spoils of the camp as well. David establishes a law that spoils will be shared with those who stay behind to guard as well as those who enter battle. David decided to also share some of the spoils with other cities that had blessed him in the past. 1 Samuel 30 17. And David attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. 18. So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. 19. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.

6 How to Obtain All Pursue Means Overtake Means
Advance, participate, persistent, ongoing, keep on with a focus, chase in order to capture, pursue with hostile intent Overtake Means Overcome, catch up, redeem the time, surpass a level once achieved Go higher than greatest past breakthrough, to take the devil by surprise, regain and come back anew

7 How to Obtain All Without Fail Recover All Bless from the Overflow
Position oneself to snatch away what was taken, just keep going no mater what, plunder the enemy’s camp and break the gates on the way out Bless from the Overflow Choose to bless others from the excess of God’s recovery of what was lost plus a 7 fold return (7X7=49 times) Sow seeds of blessing back into places and people that have blessed you in the past In the past the church has taught believers to pray and obtain their breakthrough but then they would celebrate without plundering or breaking the gates. This allows the enemy to close the gates and rebuild their strength and cause us to do battle against this same stronghold again. In this scripture God allows David to recover all and plunder all the spoils of the Amalekites camp which he shares with all his men. David also blesses those who helped him in the past from this overflow of the seven fold return. He sows seeds of blessing back into the lives of those who helped him in his times of trouble in the past.

8 5 Keys to Strengthen Yourself
Fortify Yourself Remember what God has done in your past Build Yourself Up in the Holy Spirit Pray in your Heavenly language (tongues) Meditate on the Word of God Focus on meaning of each part of Scripture Encounter the Holy Spirit God reveals the strongholds to be overcome Overcome and Gain Victory Go back to place of defeat and overcome the mountain or obstacle Isaiah 32:15a until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high . . . Many Christians do not persevere because they become weak from lack of discipline with regard to spiritual matters. These five keys to strengthen ourselves are critical to Pursue, Overtake, and Without Fail Recover All! Our enemy the devil is very persistent when it comes to beating us down into a weak state so he can defeat us. He also wants to steal our joy and our worship. We have to give the devil a warning and then relentlessly come after him to recover all that he has stolen from us and obtain our seven fold return. Judges 20:22 And the people, that is, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves and again formed the battle line at the place where they had put themselves in array on the first day.
