4. NEPAD e-SCHOOLS SATELLITE NETWORK: Features
Purpose: To connect up to 600k African Primary and Secondary Schools to the Internet
Space Segment: Leased from Satellite operating companies in bulk
Earth Segments: Small antennas located at African Primary and Secondary Schools
Operations Centre: To be located at the CSIR Satellite Applications Centre (Hartbeeshoek near Pretoria, South Africa)
Network: will be used for e-Governance and e-Health activities
: can also be used to connect Universities and research
centres
