I will focus on the roman writer and historian Tacito and his book “Germania”. Como punto de partida para este trabajo encontramos fundamentalmente “El libro más peligroso” de Christopher Krebs.

2 Index Writers who contributed to the nazi ideology. Tacito’s life.
The book Germania by Tacito. 6 ideas which had influenced Himmler. The influence of Tacito in the nazi polytics. The nazi hypocrisy Conclusions

3 6 ideas which influenced Himmler
1.Phisical appearance.  The majority of the ancient german were tall, strong, and they had blue eyes and fair hair because they were a pure race. 2. Marriages. They didn´t marry with other nation never and they were pure and simple. 3. Prinicples. The freedom, the loyalty and the the bravery beetween others were the main principles of the ancient germans. 4. The importance of the war. They fought for their honor and freedom. 5. Vices. They drank a lot. 6. Tribes. They were native and pure.

4 The book “Germania” in the nazi education
Was a “bible which each german should have”.The purity of the race and the loyalty were its main ideas. There were a lot of nazi ideological publications with the ideas from the book Germania. The book was used as a history book for the young germans. The teachers might focus on the virtues of the ancient germans. The young nazi joined the organization with a ceremony which was considered a ancient german ceremony. The teenagers picked up a sword as a symbol of the power.

5 The nazi hypocrisy There was a huge contradiction beetween the nazi leaders’ appearance and the ideas of what appereance should have a german. Hitler admitted that: When ancient germans were building stone basic monuments the greeks were already building the Athene Acropolis. Despite his private opinion about ancient germans, he supported the official nazi ideology in public. Hitler and Himmler wanted to create a nation with the principles of ancient Germany, whose capital would be called Germania. The propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, didn´t accept the ancient german too, but he promoted a movement which promised a future with the same life as in ancient Germany. Joseph Goebbels

6 Conclusions -After this project we can say that the nazi ideology isn´t from the twentieth century. It is influenced by authors from the roman empire to the twentieth century itself, when the nazi party gained access to the power in Germany. -We can emphasise too the bad use of the book Germania by Tacito, which was considered as a real history book although it wasn´t. -It´s very important the hypocrisy of the nazi leaders, and the acts which they comitted despite this fact. The book Germania
