2 What is God like?

3 God is spirit “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24)

4 God does not have a body of flesh and bones.
“See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” (Luke 24:39)

5 God is invisible No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. (John 1:18) who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen. (1 Timothy 6:16)

6 Doesn’t the Bible say that people “saw” God?
Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they beheld God, and they ate and drank. (Exodus 24:9-11)

7 How our understanding of these things affects our worship to God
Place is not significant—“neither here in this mountain nor Jerusalem”. The worship more suitable to the real nature of God is not physical or symbolic, but spiritual. It is the exaltation in the heart of a person who knows God’s true nature!

8 What picture comes to mind when you think of God?

9 What kind of worship do you consider to be worthy of a god who is pure spirit?
