3. Executives
Russia has two main executives, the President, who is supposed to have the real power, and the Prime Minister, who actually has the real power. The current Russian President is Dmitry Medvedev and the current Russian Prime Minister is Vladimir Putin

4. Legislatures Bicameral
The parliament is Russia is called the Federal Assembly
One House is Duma, it has 450 members and is the lower house. It is similar to the House of Representatives
Second House is Federation Council, 176 members, and is upper house and is similar to the Senate

5. Parlimentary and presidential systems
The President in Russia has a lot of power, and has been compared to a dictatorial position. The President has the power to dissolve the Lower House. Realistically, in present day Russia the President is on strings and is controlled by the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

6. Elections
In Russia the Head of States are both elected as well as members in both Houses of Legislature. Currently the party that is winning all of the elections is “United Russia” which is run by Vladimir Putin. United Russia is suspected of propping up fake parties to make it appear like the elections are fair, when in reality the only party to win is United Russia.
