4. Federalists These people were supporters of the constitution.
They wanted a strong federal or national government.

5. Anti-Federalists These people were against the new Constitution.
They feared that a strong central or national government would endanger peoples Liberties.

6. The Federalist Papers
James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay wrote a series of articles known as the Federalist Papers.
They attempted to convince people why the Constitution needed to be ratified.
