02 August 2010 Mr Paul Hoffman of the Institute for Accountability in Southern Africa and Mr Pieter Groenewald of the Freedom Front + request the Public Protector to investigate the allegations 3/9/11

03 August 2010 The Public Protector asks the SAPS and DPW to suspend the lease pending the outcome of her investigation 3/9/11

10 August 2010 Both the SAPS and DPW respond, undertaking to heed the Public Protector’s call. DPW further indicates that various role players involved have been advised about the suspension of the lease agreement 3/9/11
