1 Introduction to OPNFV CVP
Wenjing Chu

2 Introduction to CVP OPNFV is actively developing a Compliance Verification Program (CVP) that offers compliance verification to commercial products. The first release is based on Danube and to be launched in 2H17. Service providers and other end users provided important inputs in requirements that helped in shaping the program. Compliance verification is done through an automated test suite developed by the OPNFV community Products that pass the CVP compliance verification suite may be labeled as “OPNFV Ready”

3 CVP Objectives and Benefits
Help build the market for OPNFV-based infrastructure applications designed to run on that infrastructure Reduce adoption risks for end-users Decrease testing costs Enhance interoperability Verified products submitted by respective vendors are expected to differentiate themselves with different features and capabilities but remain compliant by implementing explicitly defined interfaces, behaviors, and key features

4 What “OPNFV Ready” means
Products that are “OPNFV Ready”(within the scope of a given release that meet maturity criteria) Supply the key behaviors, functions, and related APIs of the OPNFV release Promote the key values of the OPNFV release, e.g. based upon the open source project components that comprise the OPNFV release Perform basic NFV functions Support interoperability between an infrastructure built on the compliant products and applications designed to run on that infrastructure Are suitable for further trials in an operator network “OPNFV Ready” does not assert Readiness for commercial deployment

5 First Danube Release and Future Evolution
First release of CVP test suite is being developed based on features and interfaces found in Danube that are generally available in the industry and currently include these areas Cloud capabilities VNF life cycle basic functions Carrier network capabilities Service availability The CVP test suite and test tool are still under development in the Dovetail project and to be released 2H17 before launch.

6 First Danube Release and Future Evolution
CVP is an open source community driven program that will evolve over time Important requirements and feedbacks from operators, EUAG and other end users Collaboration with upstream communities and standard organizations New capabilities and new areas of testing are to be introduced in CVP based on community contributions and maturity of those capabilities and areas.

7 Governance C&C Committee, on behalf of the Board of Directors TSC
Defines governance, strategy and overall scope Administers the program TSC Defines and maintains the compliance verification test suite and associated tools Dovetail is the project delivering the test suite, tools, documentation and processes, leveraging the whole community’s efforts

8 Learn more about the CVP during the Summit
Keynote by Heather Kirksey Breakout session: Introducing the OPNFV Compliance Verification Program (Thursday, Jun 15 12:00PM - 12:30PM, Studio 2/3) Others? Dovetail has multiple sessions during the Design Summit on Monday and Tuesday.
