1 This assignment will help you to gain greater insight into Hindu spirituality and devotional practices. You will also have the opportunity to explore the various Hindu gods and select one to study. Review the Sanatan Society website and select one deity to research. Prepare an 8- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation that addresses the following: Provide a brief history of Hinduism. Summarize the mythology and functions of one Hindu god or goddess. What is the role of the sacred texts in Hinduism? Define these concepts in Hinduism: maya, karma, moksha, samsara, and atman. What are the primal questions that inform these teachings? What does the Hindu moral life consist of? Format your presentation consistent with course-level APA guidelines. 4 Hinduism The term "Hinduism" includes numerous traditions, which are closely related and share common themes but do not constitute a unified set of beliefs or practices. Hinduism is thought to have gotten its name from the Persian word Hindu, meaning "river“. Hinduism has no founder or date of origin. The authors and dates of most Hindu sacred texts are unknown. Its roots date back as far as 2000 BC

Three main Gods Brahma know as the creator Vishnu is the know as the preserver Shiva is the destroyer Vishnu’s responsibility is to maintain the world or else Shiva will destroy it.

It use to have Five Children are typically named after emotion such as anger, green, etc.. Vishnu portrait as black and blue It has four arms It has 1,00 arms and his name is used as worship

One of Brahma’s head lie Vishnu and as a punishment Shiva cut it off It will destroy the world and it’s existence if not control by Vishnu

9 Role of the sacred texts in Hinduism
The sacred texts of Hinduism fall into one of two categories: sruti ("heard") or smruti ("remembered"). Sruti scriptures are considered divinely inspired and fully authoritative Smruti are recognized as the products of the minds of the great sages.

Destiny or fate, following as effect from cause. Samsara (rebirth) Moksha (liberation from the cycle of Samsara) Is the endless cycle of birth, death and rebirth. samsara means "flowing on" or "passing through."
