3 Partner Share Teach your partner how a fish you eat in a restaurant has been gutted. Explain to your partner how to use quartz and flint to start a fire. Be sure to use hand signals. Teach your partner what you would need to have a blazing fire.

7 Vocabulary After studying so hard, Mary was gratified to see her test score. I can’t figure out what “gratified” means by using context clues, so I will use a dictionary or glossary. When I look up gratified in a dictionary, I see that it means “felt pleasure or satisfaction”. Now I understand that Mary was happy about her test score.

8 Partner Read Read “Island Survival” on page 87. Use glossary or dictionary if necessary to understand the meaning of the highlighted words to know.
