7. Vocabulary
After studying so hard, Mary was gratified to see her test score. I can’t figure out what “gratified” means by using context clues, so I will use a dictionary or glossary. When I look up gratified in a dictionary, I see that it means “felt pleasure or satisfaction”. Now I understand that Mary was happy about her test score.
