1 Budgeting Expenses for One Month

2 Week 1 Expenses 1. Deposit 1st paycheck into checking acct.
2. PYF: transfer money from your checking to your savings. 3. Make a car payment (minimum of $210.) or buy a mass transit pass for 1 month. 4. Buy food, have friends over, buy extra food and beverages. 5. Get hair cut, color, tanning, tattoo, piercing, massage, nails done, gym membership (your choice for personal care)

3 Week 1 Expenses cont. 6. Buy some clothes
7. Buy gas for your car for the week 8. ATM withdrawal for misc. spending money. 9. Buy something for your apartment / home (home furnishings or home maintenance) 10. Pay a doctor or dental bill

4 Week 2 Expenses 1. Deposit 2nd paycheck into checking acct.
2. PYF: transfer money from checking into savings. 3. Pay rent to your landlord. Rent may range from $400 -$1800 . 4. Make a car insurance payment, 1 month’s premium. 5. Pay for renter’s insurance ($15. Minimum)

5 Week 2 Expenses cont. 6. Buy gas for your car.
7. Pick up a prescription at a pharmacy. 8. Do something for fun, pay for it with a debit card, be sure to record exactly what you did. 9. Buy food for 1 week. 10. Make a purchase, your choice, record exactly what you buy.

6 Week 3 Expenses 1. Deposit 3rd paycheck.
2. PYF: transfer money from checking to savings. 3. Pay on a credit card bill and/or pay on a loan (school loan or other than car loan) 4. Buy food for 1 week. 5. ATM withdrawal for misc. spending.

7 Week 3 Expenses cont. 6. Pay a phone bill (cell and /or landline)
7. Purchase life insurance ($30.-$45 per month) 8. Buy gas for your car 9. Pay for Internet and cable TV. 10. Make a purchase(s) of your choice: clothing, entertainment, gifts, medical, pet, gym membership.

8 Week 4 Expenses 1. Deposit 4th paycheck 2. PYF
3. Pay electric and /or gas bill 4. Pay water / sewage bill 5. Buy food for 1 week, have a cookout or party if you can afford it.

9 Week 4 Expenses cont. 6. Buy a birthday present for a friend or loved one. 7. Buy gas for your car. 8. Pay for maintenance of your car (oil change, tune up, new tires etc.) 9. ATM withdrawal for misc. spending. 10. Buy personal care items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, lotions, etc. 11. Final purchase of your choice, may also transfer to savings. ( Ending balance needs to be zero to account for all money earned.)
