Activity Level:
Although attendance normally declines precipitously when a Task Group is in comment resolution, TGs attendance here is in the 20 to 30 range (even at the TGs ad hoc meeting at 08:00 Monday morning). This indicates a high level of interest.
At its Līhu‘e ad hoc and the following Waikoloa meeting, TGs resolved 723 comments.
Deployment of s has been limited by the fact that there has been no public draft…

Biggest s success so far: inexpensive computers targeted at the educational / 3rd world market.
~500,000 One Laptop Per Child XO “$100” computers
The 2nd generation Intel Classmate PC has “full MESH s support”
Linux incorporates the Open802.11s Project s software, which implies over ~500,000,000 units eventually (but maybe that’s cheating)

Motorola MeshConnex “pre-s” stations come with a promise of upgrade to the final s standard.
Proxim ORINOCO AP-4000 products using s backhaul are shipping and in use at CERN and other sites.
PacketHop has announced availability of s systems.
Saxnet has s availability on its multi-radio Linux based product.
Ovislink’s WL500AP Router supports the s draft.
Arada’s wireless mesh networking solution is based on the s draft.
