2. Igor Stravinsky 1882-1971 Born in Oranienbaum, Russia
Came from a musical background, father was a leading bass opera singer
Showed talent at an early age
Redefined music in his time period

3. History
Started out in Paris with his first famous works being ballets for Serge Diaghilev
Moved to Switzerland after the outbreak of World War I
Moved back to France and remained there until 1939 when WWII broke out
Became a citizen settled in California and toured all around the world
Died in New York at the age of 89

4. Redefining Music Ballets
After ballet about happy endings and romanticized music, Stravinsky brought a whole new dimension to the Russian music world.
