Philip II was a king of Macedonia. In 338 B.C., he conquered the Greek city-states. He planned to conquer the Persian Empire. However, he died. E. Napp

3 Philip’s son, Alexander set out to conquer the world.
By 330 B.C., he had conquered the Persian Empire. E. Napp

4 Alexander moved his armies all the way to the Indus River!

5 Alexander the Great conquered a vast
empire. E. Napp

6 However, once in the Indian subcontinent, Alexander’s men
wanted to return home. They were homesick! E. Napp

7 Alexander developed a fever in Babylon in 323 B.C and died.

8 Alexander’s empire fell apart after his death.
His three generals divided the empire into three kingdoms- Macedon, Egypt, and Syria. These kingdoms often fought each other but they were united by their common Greek culture. E. Napp

9 After the death of Alexander the Great,
his vast empire was divided among his generals. E. Napp

10 However, even though the empire fell apart, Alexander had spread
Greek culture throughout his empire. E. Napp
