4 OLCI status First EO image and calibration on 29 Feb 2016
All calibration sequences already carried out (radiometric calibration, degradation monitoring, spectral calibration, dark currents) L0 data released by ESRIN and EUMETSAT for cal/val activities and distributed to commissioning teams L1 processor at ESTEC delivering on demand data Some initial L2 were also processed successfully at ESRIN Instrument data quality is very good after two weeks of work! 5 OLCI spectral response functions
Following analysis of the on-ground characterisation data, an update of OLCI spectral/radiometric characteristics and in particular the spectral response functions (SRF) was released just after launch: This update includes: SRFs at 3 positions inside each OLCI camera swath (edges and centre) for each spectral band = 21 x 3 x 5 SRFs. These data are NOT included in the L1 products. If you only want 1 SRF per spectral band => choose the SRF in the center of module 3 (smile < 1.5 nm for all spectral bands) Per CCD detector (3700 in total): centre wavelengths, bandwidths and in-band solar irradiance at 1 AU => these data are also included in each L1 product

8 OLCI spectral and radiometric calibration updates
The Satellite Characterisation and Calibration Database (SCCDB) will be updated several times before Mid Term Review (MTR) and possibly In Orbit Commissioning Review (IOCR) following results from in-flight spectral and radiometric calibrations New SRFs data might be released to all users when/if consolidated after MTR

Data quality of visible channel is very good at first glance No SWIR and TIR channels yet on (23 March at earliest after decontamination and detector cooling)

17 Sentinel-3 OLCI L1/L2 Commissioning data availability
Data should become available to S3VT (S3VT as authorised users) about the time of the Commissioning MTR (Mid-term check point) pending the green light from the Commissioning team and the joint ESA and EUMETSAT agreement OLCI MTR is currently planned for 26 April 2016 Only patchy data availability is expected Announcement to the S3VT about the opening of the data subscription will be released in early April Announcement will include details of datasets and extracts (minifiles) and the data access points S3VT members will have to subscribe to start receiving data Data will be accessible using valid S3VT credentials via all three means of EUMETSAT data dissemination but starting dates may be staggered: EUMETCast, ODA, and EUMETSAT Data Centre
