Simpson’s Paradox Is there discrimination in admissions? A college offers only two degree programs, one in electrical engineering and one in English. Admissions to these programs is competitive, and the women’s caucus suspects discrimination against women in the admissions process. 4 Conclusion The English program is more difficult to get into than the engineering program. Because more females are applying to the program that is more difficult to get into, more females are being rejected than males.
