For this lab you will make a FLOW CHART of the steps for the procedure. A Flow chart uses boxes and arrows

Observations under the microscope.
Obtain a clean dry microscope slide. Place ONE drop of solution onto the centre of the slide 1. Clean dry microscope slide

Heat the slide CAREFULLY in the Bunsen flame for 20 seconds.

the centre of the slide Cu SO4 solution Clean dry slide Bunsen Burner Timer Heat on Bunsen Flame For 20 seconds

Place the slide on the microscope stage

Observe using the LOW power to focus.
Once it is focused use the medium power to observe and draw any crystals you see. You need to PROCESS what you see. This means asking yourself questions about the images that reach your brain…. ALL diagrams MUST be drawn in PENCIL Unlabelled diagrams are only pencil scratches on paper!!!!

Clean your slide and dry using a paper towel.
Repeat using Alum solution and again using salt solution. You should end up with 3 sets of diagrams.
