10 “The objective of the project is to develop the maturity of every national data archive service in Europe, and to develop it in a coherent and deliberate way towards the vision of a comprehensive, distributed and integrated social science data research infrastructure, facilitating access to social science data resources for researchers regardless of the location of either researcher or data.

11 Objectives to prepare a developmental model for the purpose of evaluation of the current state of play in national social science data archive services; to design packages of development support; to further the strength of the CESSDA membership to undertake actions to further the global outreach. The objective is to expand and improve services for researchers Building capacity, increase impact and trust

12 Target Countries CESSDA member countries Established national data service seeking support for becoming full CESSDA members Countries with promising infrastructure proto- activities Countries with poor or no infrastructure and/or poor prospects of EU integration

13 Looking Forward CESSDA is now well established and we look forward to play a central role as a European Research Area institution covering nearly all European countries
