2 The Old Testament says that anybody who keeps all of God’s laws will be saved. But no human can keep all the laws. So God sent Jesus Christ, who did keep all the laws, to take our punishment for breaking the law. By grace, we can be saved just by believing that Christ died for us. MAIN IDEA NKJV

8 MAIN LESSON 2. Jesus is the only Person who could keep all of God’s laws perfectly. That’s why He is the only One who could take the punishment for sin. ESVNKJV

9 MAIN LESSON Romans 5:21 So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteous-ness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. NKJV

10 MAIN LESSON 3. Once we trust Christ, we are justified (judged by God as innocent and righteous). We also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to live inside of us. This is by God’s grace through our faith in Jesus Christ! We did nothing to deserve these things. NKJV

12 MAIN LESSON 4. The Holy Spirit helps believers resist sin and start becoming more like Christ. This is grace. We could never do this on our own. We allow the Holy Spirit to work in us when we read God’s Word, pray, go to church, and worship God. NKJV

13 MAIN LESSON Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. NKJV
