x- intercept: the x-coordinate of the point where the graph crosses the x-axis (_, 0)

Finding Intercepts of Lines:
To find the x-intercept of a line, substitute 0 in for “y” in the equation and solve for x.
To find the y-intercept of a line, substitute 0 in for “x” in the equation and solve for y.

y = 3/2x – 3
0 = 3/2x – 3
+3 = +3
3 = 3/2x
3(2/3) = (2/3)(3/2)x
2 = x
