Read the article, “Appreciating Shakespeare’s Language”.
What is the difference between Shakespeare’s use of “thou”/”thee” and “you”?
Why is this important to understand when reading his plays?

3. Working with Shakespeare’s language
Choose one other person to be your partner. Sit next to them, silently.
With your partner, you will choose one of 3 scenarios and write a scene using modern-day English.
Each character must have at least 10 lines (3 word minimum each line)
After you’ve written the scene in modern English, translate it into Old English.
