Thomas Jefferson would lead a committee to Draft the Declaration of Independence due to his writing talents and to gain the support of Virginia
He Argued that:

He Said the King had Knowingly Violated those rights

40-45% of the Americans were Patriots
20-30% were Loyalists loyal to Britain
And roughly 25% were Neutral
Most Loyalists, however, felt threatened and would flee to canada

Native Americans Were also Divided on who to fight for not knowing who would treat them the worst
African Americans were also divided and forced to choose between the promises of freedom or equality

Slavery would not be addressed in the Declaration of Independence, though we were declaring ourselves the home of the free
Main Author Thomas Jeffers0n was actually a slave holder from Virginia
Native Americans would also have their freedoms property and life taken away by settlers and were ignored in the declaration
