What is a headshot? A professional-looking photo
Given to casting managers when you audition; added into a program and/or hung in the lobby for a performance Can be either black and white or colour Connects the performer to the audience and/or casting director; works as a memory tool Usually have two styles that can be used depending on the performance/part you are auditioning for

Things to remember for your photo
DO DON’T Wear nice, dark clothing (we will have a white backdrop) Look like yourself! Go easy on the make-up and hair products Have 2 different poses that you would like to try Take the direction of the photographer Connect with the camera through your eyes (camera as a person) Be comfortable in front of the camera! Wear clothing with big patterns or lots of designs; the focus needs to be on YOU not your clothing Use “blank face”; this will only make you look either scared or unmemorable; show your personality Be unprofessional at your shoot

What about afterwards? Shoots will be during class
10 people – December 1st & 3rd 4 people – December 5th Friday Dec 5th –come to the Art room at lunch to choose the photo that will be printed 3 digital copies will be giving to you to use in your portfolio
