1 The 1st National Health Sciences Students Congress
This is a cross sectional descriptive study. This study was carried out on 220 patients, candidate for exercise test in Mazandaran Heart Center hospital. Patients were divided randomly into two groups based on the results of exercise stress test:positive exercise test (110 patients) and negative exercise test (110 patients). Patients’ lifestyles were assessed with a standardized questionnaire; "Health promotion lifestyle profile- II".SPSS-22 software and chi-square tests and logistic regression were used for data analysis. Poor lifestyle is a contributing element in this regard. The present study aims at assessing the effects of health-related variables and lifestyle variables on the results of exercise in patients with cardiovascular disease. Based on the logistic regression analyses, the risk of positive exercise stress test increases with age. The age group above 65 years were times more at risk of positive exercise stress test compared with age group of less than 45 years. The people with hypercholesterolemia were times more at risk of positive exercise stress test compared with group without hypercholesterolemia. In addition, the patients with hypertension were times more at risk of positive exercise stress test compared with the group without hypertension. Lack individual health responsibility (OR: 1.622), stress management (OR: 1.592) and physical activity (OR: 1.245) contributed more to the positive exercise test compared with other risk factors. Materials and Methods: This is a cross sectional descriptive study. This study was carried out on 220 patients, candidate for exercise test in Mazandaran Heart Center hospital. Patients were divided randomly into two groups based on the results of exercise stress test :positive exercise test (110 patients) and negative exercise test (110 patients). SPSS-22 software and chi-square tests and logistic regression were used for data analysis. Conclusion: Educational interventions can improve the responsibility for health, physical activity and stress management among people with cardiovascular disease risks. Keywords: Cardiovascular disease; exercise stress Test; Health promoting lifestyle
