Public Education Partners Aiken County September 22, 2016 Dear Community Member, We are excited to announce the first annual Adult Spelling Bee to benefit Public Education Partners (PEP). Guests will enjoy a night of fun, food and lots of laughs as teams of 3 compete for the title of “Best Adult Spellers in Aiken County.” PEP is reliant on the generosity of its community members to fulfill its mission of engaging the community's support for quality public education with innovative programs and positive initiatives that create measurable improvement in our schools. PEP’s goal is to raise $35,000 and we hope you will help us reach our goal by sponsoring our first Adult Spelling Bee. Please contact Public Education Partners at with questions. Spelling Bee Format Guests will enjoy a night of fun, food and comedy! Hors d’oeuvres provided Cash bar Spelling Bee Teams 3 person teams A prize will be given for the most creative team name and corresponding costume Guests can buy cheats and donate them to their favorite team (100% tax deductible) One Letter Clue ($20) Second Try ($20)- the team gets to reconvene with their team for as long as the original convening time based on the round Dictionary Peek ($20)- the team has 20 seconds to look in the dictionary as they convene with their team Ask A Teacher ($20) Skip the Round ($100 each) Public Education Partners

Spelling Bee Rounds Round 1:Lightning Round Easier Words, but commonly misspelled Team Member 1 must spell the word correctly on their dry erase board Round 2: Lightning Round Team Member 2 must spell the word correctly on their dry erase board Round 3: Lightning Round Team Member 3 must spell the word correctly on their dry erase board Round 4: Teams have 30 seconds to convene Team chooses speller Round 5: Teams have 20 seconds to convene Round 6: Teams have 15 seconds to convene Round 7:Lightning Round Teams only have 10 seconds to convene Team Member 1 must spell Round 8:Lightning Round Team Member 2 must spell Round 9:Lightning Round Team Member 3 must spell *Final Round (if necessary) Remaining teams are given a written spelling test with 8 questions and the team with the highest average score wins!
