Matthew 5: But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you & take your shirt, let him have your coat also. 41 Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks of you, & do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.

God: He will repay (Rom 12:19; Deut 32:35)
Paul: insulted in the church (1 Cor 4:1-5)
Paul: insulted by governments (Acts 16:37)
Jesus: insulted by the Jews (John 18:22-23)

4. Giving the shirt and coat
Matthew 5:40
Jesus: “Don’t always demand your rights”
Law: Prohibited taking coat (Exo 22:25-27)
God: He is aware; He will be gracious

Jesus: “Don’t resent your government”
You: Go the 2nd mile (1 Pet 2:13-15, 18-19)
