5 Scotland is situated in the north of UK
Scotland is situated in the north of UK. It is washed by North Sea on the east and by North Atlantic Ocean on the west. Northern Ireland occupies the northeast of Ireland. This part of UK is washed by Irish Sea on the east.

Edinburgh has been the capital of Scotland since 15th century. Scotland’s biggest cities are Glasgow, Fort William, Aberdeen, Inverness. Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland. The largest cities of it are Shannon, Derry, Newry.

7 The rivers are short, but deep. The largest one is the Shannon.
There are three famous lochs: Lochy, Oich and Ness. The most famous of these Loch Ness. The Cheviot Hills is a natural boundary between England and Scotland. Clyde and Tweed are the biggest rivers of Scotland. There are low hills and peaks of rocks in the northwest, the northeast is a plateau. The rivers are short, but deep. The largest one is the Shannon.
