Huntsville City Schools Career Academies Enrollment Is Expected to Increase as Additional Academy Pathways are Added and Career Interest Planning Increases New Career Academy Pathways for Business Academy Business Management & Administration Finance Sports & Entertainment Marketing Family & Consumer Sciences Academy Education & Training Food, Wellness, & Dietetics Fashion Career Coaches Two state funded Career Coaches; KUDER Interest Inventory – 8th Grade; Development of 4-Year Plan; iRegister Participation; Each Academy has a recommended course progression starting freshman year; Career Prep Waiver Request – What Does it Mean for Our Students?

4 Industry Certifications Continue to Increase, with Students/Parents Saving on Certification Voucher Fees *Huntsville City Schools students/parents saved over $20,000 in in industry recognized certification voucher fees

Career 101 Parent Outreach-February 14th & 16th Career Prep Industry Insight-February 9th ABC-Construction Career Day at Calhoun-March 8th Lee Technical Theatre – Building sets for “Little Shop of Horrors” Innovative System Project for the Increased Recruitment of Emerging STEM Students Competitions – CyberPatriot, Culinary ProStart, Skills USA, TSA, FBLA, HOSA, & FCCLA NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge AFJROTC StellarXplorer team qualified for National Semifinals on February 24th Grissom has Two of the Top 3 Teams in Alabama for the Microsoft Office Certification Challenge
