2 Instructions Choose your #1 career choice from your 3 Career Research documents Now choose 2 community colleges (2 year schools) and 2 universities (4 year schools) that you could go to for this career. You are going to use College Comparison Table to compare possible colleges. Headers highlighted in blue will match up to the blue links on the WOIS College pages.

3 General Information What city & state is the school located in?
Is it a public or private school? Private schools tend to cost more Type of School (2 yr or 4 yr)? 2 yr is junior or community college 4 yr is a university If private, is there a denomination? This means is it related to a religion? If so, what religion?

4 School Setting What is the distance from home?
Use Google Maps if you don’t know How many hours? Can do miles if you want What is the setting of the city the school is located in? Urban means city and rural means country What is the nearest major metropolitan area? This means the nearest big city Population?

5 Student Body Total Enrollment
How many students are going to this college? What % of students are in your ethnic group?

6 Admissions What is the entrance difficulty?
What exams are you required or recommended for admission? ACT, SAT, & COMPASS are all college tests. Please look to see if they are required to attend the college.

7 Academics Degrees offered Attendance options
Certificates, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, etc. Attendance options On-line, distance, part-time, summer school, evenings, weekends, etc. Study abroad would be found under off-campus study

8 Housing On-campus housing: dorms, residence halls or apartments
On campus living Some schools require only freshman to live on campus; others require you to up until you are a sophomore.

9 Sports/Student Life Sports- Activities or clubs Intercollegiate
These are sports that you play competitively against other colleges in the league Intramural These are sports that you just play on campus, not against other schools Activities or clubs

10 Costs Write down the costs that you would have if you went to this school. -Ex: if you went to school at an in-state school, write down in-state tuition not out-of-state. Add up the costs for the total for each school Tuition Cost of taking classes In-state means a Washington school or a state that you have residency in Out-of-state means you are going to a school outside of Washington Fees Cost of lab classes & processing information Books & Supplies Cost of books & educational supplies Room & Board Cost of a place to stay & food to eat On campus means you are living in dorms, residence halls Off campus or at home is self-explanatory
