versus 28% among the ‘most deprived’ – representing a 19% difference.

Unless they get hooked on tobacco at a young age they are unlikely to develop an addiction later on. We have less smokers and less young people taking up the habit.

12 Tobacco residue from cigarettes and other tobacco products that is left behind after smoking - built up on surfaces and furnishings. It has significant health risks. Young children can ingest tobacco residue by putting their hands in their mouths after touching contaminated surfaces. Homes of former smokers remained polluted with third hand smoke for up to 6 months after the residents quit smoking.

13 These fires cause more fatalities than any other source.
Report from England shows out of 191 fatalities 69 (36%)  had smoking materials as the source of ignition.

New emerging legislation on smokefree hospitals, playground and schools Contained in the new Public Health Act is the ability to draft new regulations on additional smokefree areas without an additional Bill

16  The Obama administration has banned smoking in all public housing developments nationwide
Smoking is not permitted within 25 feet of any of the buildings All public housing agencies must implement smokefree policies  by August 2018 It will save $94m in second-hand smoke related health care, $43m in repairs and $16m in fire losses.
