Prophetic Anointing and Impartation
What is the Anointing ?? The word ANOINTING Means in Hebrew & Greek: Fatness, or Richness Ointment To Smear or RUB with OIL (usually olive oil, but sometimes mixed with other perfume type oils, like Frankincense, Myrrh, Cinnamon, etc) Fruitfulness In general Oil was used during Bible times, to be symbolic (or Prophetic) of the Anointing on someone’s life – in order to: Consecrate someone – set him/her apart/aside for a Particular Service Eg: Moses Anointed Aaron and his sons as Priests AND: Samuel Anointed Saul and later David as Kings over Israel Note: Kings and Priests were Anointed with Oil – but not the Prophets!! Prophets are the ones that performs the Anointing with the Oil – according to God’s selection of any particular persons AND Then: With the OIL – came the Holy Spirit and RESTED upon the Kings & Priests that were anointed by that Prophet (1 Sam 10:6&10, 1 Sam 16:13) The Anointing was thus also seen/defined as a particular Ability that was given by God to the Person that was Anointed with the Oil – to become what He has called them for…eg. King or Priest, etc… BUT: Prophets were Anointed by God Himself – by first Calling them, and set them apart, and GAVE His Holy Spirit to be with them, to guide them and lead them, and to convey His Message to the people Eg: Samuel (1Sam3 – note verse 19&20), Jeremiah (Jer 1), other prophets (1Chron 12:18, 2 Chron 15:1, 2 Chron 20:14…)

Prophetic Anointing and Impartation
In Hebrew the word Prophet means – a spokesperson, announcer, someone proclaiming a message at the direction of another - which is mostly from God. Prophets needed God’s Holy Spirit to be with them in order to speak and do what God expects of them… NOW: The Word MESSIAH – is taken from the Hebrew word for Anointing (Mashach) And the same in the Greek – the Word CHRIST is coming from the Greek word Christos which means Anointing Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Jesus then came and repeat this very Scripture in Luk 4:17-21 Luk 4:21 And He began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears Admitting thus that He was Anointed by God Himself – through His Holy Spirit (which came upon Him at His Baptism) And thus also can we say that Jesus was a Prophet too – as no one came to Anoint Jesus with any oil. He was given all His abilities to Preach, and Teach, and Prophecy, and Heal, and Deliver etc, by God Himself. Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.

Prophetic Anointing and Impartation
How does the Anointing Apply to my life today, as a Christian?? Joel 2: And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit. Peter then came and confirmed it on the day of Pentecost: Act 2: But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on My servants and on My handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy: Thus, by Being Filled with the Holy Spirit, you don’t only receive some or all of the 9 Gifts, but you receive the Anointing with the Gifts in order to give you every ability you will ever need to use/perform those gifts to their fullest !! AND, when you have received the Holy Spirit, You don’t have to wait for someone to first come and anoint you with oil, or lay hands on you etc, before you have to believe that you are anointed…!!! WARNING: Don’t ever take the Anointing you have received from God through the Holy Spirit for granted !! Believe it, Treasure it, Appreciate it, and Tap into it whenever you need it - all for God’s Honour and Glory !! The Anointing Releases the Supernatural (manifestations) !!

Prophetic Anointing and Impartation
Characteristics of the Prophetic Anointing Together with any Anointing, comes the responsibility that you can’t just say and/or do what you want anymore. The Anointing is asking of you, to represent God, and reflect who He is !!! Based on this – we need to thus look at Character Traits we need to allow the Holy Spirit to build into us, in order to ensure that we will not fall in any traps, and/or if we did step into one, that we will be able to get out of it very quickly. We need to grow in Characteristics like: Love vs Loveless, being indifferent, hate, racism, cynical, selfishness (1 Cor 13) Humbleness vs Pride or Inferiority (1 Pet 5:6) Trust vs thinking I can do it myself (pride) Integrity vs Fickleness / unreliable Stability vs being blown around by different winds of Doctrine (Eph 4:14) Faith vs Fear, Doubt (Jam 1:6-8, Heb 11:1, Josh 1:9, 2 Tim 1:7, 1 Joh 4:18) Faithfulness vs being Unfaithful, selfishness Repentance vs Stubbornness (Israel in the Desert) Forgiveness vs Un-forgiveness & Bitterness Speaking the TRUTH vs Lying / Hypocrisy These are all Godly Characteristics – meaning they are Keeping God Stable and Trustworthy too (The Rock of Ages) If we want to represent God and His Word and His Will or carry His message, then we need to become more like Him. A Godly character will allow us to endure the “race” of the ministry and to reach our final goal (1 Cor 9:23-27) Character outweighs any Gift you have received from God. You might be very gifted, but with a weak character, your gifts won’t be very effective for God’s Kingdom !!!

THUS: Choose to Cultivate Kingdom Cultures and move away from Worldly thinking Build your house on the Rock (Jesus as the corner stone, with the Apostles & Prophets as the Foundation) and not on the sand (unstable worldly nature) (Mat 7:24-27) Such a character will enable us to remain standing when Trials and Tribulations come (Joh 16:33) Character is mostly formed through: Trials, Troubles, Tests, Tribulations, Temptations, Suffering & Hardships Jam 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Heb 5:8 Though He (Jesus) were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which he suffered; Studying the Word – giving us tools & principals to live by and building moral values into our lives (Eph 5:26-27 – The WORD washes & cleanses us like water, and renew your mind - Rom 12:2) Saul vs David & Daniel & his 3 friends (1 Sam 15:17,16:7,17, Dan 1:8,17,20, 2:47-49, 3: …) Looking at other anointed Men & Woman of God, as to what anointing they had plus what made them succeed and what caused some to come to a dismal fall…eg. : Catherine Kuhlman Smith Wiglesworth John Alexander Dowie John G Lake One’s life speaks louder than any prophecy. We are being “recognized” through the FRUIT we produce !!! (Mat 7:16-20, Gal 5:19-22, Jam 3, 1 Cor 13:1-2)

Prophetic Anointing and Impartation
Be Single-minded – with Single-minded Ears & Eyes – for God and His Kingdom alone !!! Mat 6:22-23, Luk 11:34 (KJV) “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” From the previous points we’ve discussed, it is clear that we need to only focus our attention on the Lord. Like Peter at first when he stepped out of the boat (Mat 14:25-32) Also see Jesus’ prayer in Joh 17:19 Jam 1:6-8 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” In life, there are many influences. These influences can be: Opinions, purposes, goals, selfish ambitions of man, plans of the enemy, wrong motives Television, movies, news, family, wrong friends, questions, doubt, fear, etc… The most important thing for Prophetic ministers and anyone that wants to truly flow in the prophetic, is to be “single-mindedly FOCUSED on Jesus Christ & God’s Word as well as His Spirit” (Mat19:29, 1 Cor 7:35, Heb 12:1-2) God is looking for a BRIDE that has no “wondering eye” towards the world and its attractions. Be careful that a prophetic word is not influenced by expectations of man. Rely on the Holy Spirit only to speak into an area as He wishes, and not what you want to think or say (eg: being affected/impacted by outside or own framework, opinions, gossip etc) Only say what the Spirit of God is SHOWING or SAYING to you – nothing more !! Stand on God’s interpretation of a particular Word – and not what “man” want the interpretation to be !!

Prophetic Anointing and Impartation
Rom 1: For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Impartation is to Give, or Share, Distribute, to Transfer or Grant someone something specific as a GIFT !!! The Greek word (metadidomi) for “Impart” implies Liberality and Generosity In the Physical it would mean: that if I “Impart” something to someone – by giving them for eg: of my clothes when they don’t have anything But in the Spiritual sense – I can IMPART my FAITH unto you, or I can IMPART unto you the Holy Spirit – normally by laying on of my hands, but it can be also through Preaching and Teaching the Word to someone…etc. Act 8: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them (Samaritans), that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. Act 8: And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. I can also “IMPART” Healing to someone, like Peter did: Act 3:6-8 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. Act 19: And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. 1Tim 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Prophetic Anointing and Impartation
Receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit NOW: You may wonder how do I get Holy Spirit Filled ?? It all starts first through Believing in Jesus and His Finished work on the Cross Then there are basically 3 ways you can receive the Holy Spirit: Through the Baptism (after you are Born Again through your declaration of Faith – Rom 10:9-10) Through Laying on of Hands (Impartation) by someone that are Holy Spirit Filled Through God Himself – Giving you His Holy Spirit by just asking for it without anybody else being involved in any way (Luk 11:13) NOTE: to be BORN AGAIN (or Born from Above) isn’t the same thing as being Holy Spirit Filled…!!! To be Born Again – means that the Spirit of Christ (Anointing) is BORN inside of your spirit – and then changes you from the inside, opening up your eyes to the Spiritual things – the Supernatural AND the Kingdom of God (John 3, 2 Cor 5:17) But to be Holy Spirit Filled (Also called the Outpouring) – You get ACTIVATED and receive Power from God (Acts 1:4-8) in order to Operate in the Anointing – the Gifts of the Spirit – The Call of Ministry are then also being released in your heart at this time But then there comes a time, that you also get Baptized with the FIRE of God, (Luk 3:16) which is in fact an infilling of God’s Love, and Authority Power, which will bring Revival, and serious change in churches, and towns, and countries etc… (Charles Finney – mid 1800s) This is for everyone – not just a selected few anymore. Anyone who chooses to believe can Receive the Holy Spirit in all its Glory – and thus also His GIFTS !! Joh 16: When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is Mine; therefore I said that He will take what is Mine and declare it to you. Joh 20: Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whosoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins ye retain, they are retained. ***** A M E N *****
