She has a round face with rosy cheeks, black eyebrows and eyelashes. She has a red kerchief on her head. She is a symbol of the beauty of Russian girls and kindness. If you pull it apart you’ll see smaller dolls inside.They are her children.Matryoshka means the old Russian name Matryona which means “mother”. Khokhloma is a Russian folk trade. It originates in district of Nizhniy Novgorod.Five colors are used( red, black, gold, green and yellow). Basic elements of khokhloma are red berries, flowers, branches and birds. Spoons, cups, small boxes, dishes and trays are very popular. This painting became the visiting- card of Russia in the world.
