8 Victorian Curriculum -Digital Technologies
The Digital Technologies curriculum enables students to become confident and creative developers of digital solutions through the application of information systems and specific ways of thinking about problem solving.

9 Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Featherbrook College is committed to providing our students with the best access to learning technologies and online learning. The BYOD program is designed to cater for Years 3 -9 students to support current curriculum programs in a digital context. Department of Education 1:1 device research states that students who engage in a 1:1 program are; more motivated and engaged in their learning; better organised, which improves literacy and numeracy outcomes.

10 MACBOOK AIR The Macbook Air is our preferred device based on our successful experience with our school owned devices during 2017 The Macbook Air devices have been approved to work within our college’s ICT infrastructure The Macbook Air is thin, durable and easily transferrable between hme and school and across the school setting The device has considerable memory of 8GB, built-in apps and an all-day battery life The device offers simple syncing of documents and files with other iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones and are compatible with mac versions of Microsoft Office.

12 Acceptable Use Agreement
In order to access the eduSTAR network at Featherbrook, families need to sign the Acceptable use of Digital Technologies Student Agreement. This document outlines: Safe and responsible behaviour expectations for the students Makes reference to the relevant school policies User responsibilities when using BYOD or school owned devices Stage response to inappropriate use How the school will support the students

13 Camp Program Year 7 students will be attending Camp Manyung
Wednesday 5th – Friday 7th September Camp Manyung specialises in facilitating exciting adventure activities for all different types of user groups. Programs deliver specific outcomes that focus on teamwork, self-development and community building.

17 How to Make Contact with Your Child’s Teachers
Phone discussion- for minor questions. Arrange a meeting time to discuss any wellbeing matters or child’s progress. Please do not attempt to have a meeting ‘on the run’. If the matter is important a scheduled meeting is most appropriate. through the school address : and ‘attention…….’ in the subject line. COMPASS – on-line portal to facilitate communication between the home and school. Parents will receive log-in details early term 1 Write a note Student-Led Conference – (End Term 2 & 4)
