Manual and Guide on WIS Doc 3.4(1) – WIS Centres
Confirm Terms of Reference for focal points Focal points have a formal role to play in the fast track approvals procedure and therefore must have authority delegated by PR Updates to Manual on WIS Update list of DCPCs Amend NMC details changes to the names and associations of NMCs in Aruba(Netherlands) Change the principal GISC of centres in Algeria to Toulouse. Main issues addressed by the documents on the Manual and Guide to the WMO Information System. Document 3.4(1) – WIS centres Confirm the roles of focal points on matters related to WIS In addition to acting as the point of contact between the secretariat and the technical teams supporting the WIS, WIS related focal points have a formal role to plan in the fast track approvals procedure. They need the authority of the PR to do this, and the Terms of Reference allow PRs to delegate this authority in a clear manner. Updates to the Manual on WIS related to WIS centres Update the list of Data Collection or Production Centres changes to the names and associations of NMCs in Aruba(Netherlands) Change the principal GISC of centres in Algeria to Toulouse. Document 3.4(2) – WIS metadata Clarify the sections of the Manual to which the fast track procedures apply Make the use of the data policy designators clear so that people know to use them for GFCS data (Resolution 60 (Cg-18)) and ICAO data. Introduce guidance on the creation of WIS metadata into the Guide to WIS – with supplementary (and more technical) information available through the WMO website. Document 3.4(3) – DBNet Guide On behalf of the satellite programme Guidance on how to use the Direct Broadcast Network.

Other centre notifications
France has indicated its intention to designate a centre in support of the European Copernicus activities Tunisia has notified the WIS Centres Committee that it wishes to retain Casablanca as its principal GISC, but Tunisia has not yet written formally to the Secretary General to confirm this.

Conditional designation
EC-68 decided that conditional designation of centres would cease at the end of CB-16 Several conditionally designated centres undergoing assessment WIS centres committee recommended that the document is updated to request extension of conditional designation
