2. What is PhilGEPS?
The PhilGEPS (Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System) is the single, centralized electronic portal that shall serve as the primary and definitive source of information on government procurement. (Section 8 R.A. 9184)

3. BACKGROUND
Government entities are mandated to use PhilGEPS in all their procurement activities:
Goods & General Support Services
Civil Works; and
Consulting Services

4. OBJECTIVES
To establish an open, transparent, efficient and competitive marketplace for government procurement
To get better prices
To build the framework to continually improve the procurement process
To maintain sustainability of its operations over the long term
