2 Old ( still present )education system
the age of primary school, the age of junior high school the age of grammar, technical or vocational school When they pass the school leaving exam ( Matura), they can start tertiary education Criticism of education in Poland - insufficient system of teaching - a lot of theory, not enough practice The new education system is supposed to change it .

5 Scale of Marks 1-insufficient 2-approval to pass 3-sufficient 4-good 5-very good 6-excellent

6 School Subjects Compulsory subjects(at basic level)
Optional extended subjects (at advanced level) Polish -II- Mathematics Philosophy P.E. Science Religion I.T.  The history of art Languages:  *English , French, German, Latin

7 School Day Lessons from 8 or 8.15 am till 2 or 3 pm
One lesson = 45 minutes Usually breaks last: -5minutes -10minutes -20/30 minutes (lunch break ) public schools : students in each class. private schools : up to 25 people. In case of foreign languages and I.T. teachers divide each class into two groups of students

8 School Year School starts on 1st September
Lessons from Monday to Friday Christmas break: Winter holiday: two weeks in January or February Easter break: Moundy Thursday to Tuesday 1-3 May break Usually school ends on Friday before the last weekend of June

9 Secondary school leaving exams (Matura)- -basic information
All scores expressed in percentage. The score of 30% needed to pass at the basic level No” pass” or ”fail” at advanced level, just the score ( percentage) Results of written exams after about 2 months Oral exams taken regardless of the results of written exams.

10 Oral exams Taken by everyone in Polish and a modern foreign language
There is no division into extended and basic level for oral exams WRITTEN EXAMS - 3 compulsory subjects at basic level: the Polish language, a modern foreign language, mathematics -1 compulsory subject at extended ( advanced) level chosen by a student -Optionally up to 5 subjects at advanced level chosen by students

12 Our school budget 65% from government 35% from students’ monthly fee and tuition Our school spendings 90% for teachers and staff salaries -23 teachers -2 staff workers 10% for water,electricity bills etc. and school equipment
