2 Introduction in the parables of the pearl of great price and the hidden treasure, Jesus teaches the importance of recognizing true spiritual value the Jews had placed their value in genealogies, wealth, and other earthly measures even the disciples expectations of the coming kingdom were primarily earthly in nature as Christians, we are citizens of that spiritual kingdom, the church (Phil. 3:20-21) Acts 2:30-33, 47

3 Value of the Spiritual Kingdom
both the pearl and the treasure were worth more than all they had, priceless church bought by Christ’s blood (Acts 20:28) promises an eternal inheritance (1 Pet. 1:3-5) Christ’s kingdom worthy of the sacrifice of all not all willing to count the cost (Mt. 19:20-22) (Jn. 12:42)(2 Tim. 4:1-4) what could replace it? (Phil. 3:7-11)(Mt. 16:24-27) spiritual treasure lasts forever (Mt. 6:19-21)

4 Valued By Those Who Seek
the pearl was found by one in search of it seek and find (Lk. 11:9-13)(Heb. 11:6) examples (Jn. 1:35-45)(Acts 8:26-39)(Acts 17:32-34) not all pearls created equally (Acts 17:22-31) truth is knowable! (1 Thess. 5:19-22)(Eph. 3:3-4) seeking the kingdom with an honest heart dishonest seeking? (Rom. 9:30-33)(1 Cor. 1:18-25) honest heart is obedient to the truth (Mt. 13:23) (Jn. 8:31-32; 7:17)(2 Cor. 11:1-4)

5 Valued By Those Who Discover
the treasure was stumbled upon, recognized gospel can touch an honest heart unexpectedly examples (Acts 16:25-34; 19:18-20)(Phil. 1:12-14; 4:22) all need to hear the gospel (Rom. 10:20; cf ) ready and honest heart shown by repentance no longer walking same path (1 Pet. 4:1-6) walking instead in the light (1 Jn. 1:5-2:6)

6 Are you a part of that kingdom?
Conclusion Christ’s kingdom is no ordinary kingdom, it is a spiritual kingdom (Heb. 12:22-29) its eternal and unparalleled value is represented by the hidden treasure and pearl of great price no matter who we are, the cost required is ourselves, our heart and obedience (Rom. 12:1-2) Are you a part of that kingdom?
