“Pursue Truth” Tender Mercy: Hildegard was given as a tithe to the church.
Monks separated themselves from the world in monasteries with high walls and strong gateways.

Medieval writing, literature, illumination, and record-keeping happened in monasteries for the sole purpose of the monks. But many spectacular books survive and are treasures for us today!

Although silence and seclusion was the intent for monks, many generously labored themselves and gave to provide for the needy, with… A meal and a safe place to rest overnight. Treatment and medicine for illness, accidents, and old age. Education for children. Hildegard excelled in making use of this education and experience.

Hildegard received many revelations that she used to warn and bless others.

“Live Right” Hildegard tried to help all women within her reach.
Hildegard built a women’s convent to separate nuns of all ages from the sometimes corrupt priests.

“Leave a Legacy” Hildegard von Bingen’s religious and musical legacy has lasted over a thousand years. “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies” (Proverbs 31:10).
