2. Iranun
The iranun are called ilianon as well they were closely related culturally and linguistically to the Maranao and Maguindanaon. The majority of iranun live along the coastline in the towns. They are also an ethno linguistic tribe in the southern Philippines and occupy a substantial portion of historic places in Mindanao, sulu, palawan and sabah. For centuries, the Illanun were regarded as the fiercest pirates in the Malay world. It is thought that the Malay word for pirate, 'lanun', derives from the word Illanun. Originally from the area around Lake Lanao in southern Mindanao, Illanun colonies spread from Sumatra through the Sulu Archipelago, and the east coast of Borneo. Most Illanun are Muslim. Their language is part of the Austronesian family, and is most closely related to Maranao of the Pgilippines. Historically, the Iranun were given the exonym Illanun during the British colonial era.

3. Culture
Their wedding process undergoes four stages. These stages were panunuriman (observation) pangingidong (whispering) from the kakaman side (groom side), sarangguni (actual negotiation of the twon parties facilitated by other group.
Demography
Their population is estimated between 50,000 and 150,000 individuals.
