A Little About Me Homework Our Goals This Year: Teacher Contact Information Website: Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions! I look forward to a wonderful year together. I am married to my fantastic husband Ted. We have two furry babies, Rocket and Groot. This is my second year at Aspen Ridge and my second year teaching 3rd grade. Being a primary educator is a never ending learning process. It is my mission to install a passion for learning . Starting in the 3rd grade, students will use a planner to write down their homework every morning. Homework will essentially stay the same all year, but you will want to check the planner just in case there are any changes. Math: Every week, the students will receive a packet or a paper to complete by Friday. Spelling: Students are expected to practice their spelling at home to prepare for the test on Friday. Reading: Students will complete the read and respond sheet given by their reading teacher. having a positive mindset for learning trying our best every day not giving up being realistic learning to set personal goals being a classroom citizen StudentSavvy © 2015 Third Grade Transition Please note that the transition to 3rd grade can sometimes be difficult because the expectations raise dramatically. It may seem tough at first, but the growth that you will see them make is tremendous! Behavior Systems This year we are trying a new behavior system. Students will be keep track of their behavior with “money.” They will receive deposits for positive behavior, and will have withdrawals for negative behavior. They will keep track of their own transaction logs. At the end of every trimester, we will hold a “store,” where students can bring in items that they don’t want or made. Using their cash, they can buy each others’ items. If students fail to follow expectations, I will first issue a warning. After the second time, I will make the student go to the Refocus Desk in the back of the room. If the behavior continues, I will issue a minor referral. If the case is extreme, I will automatically write a major referral. I will always contact you if I write a referral.
