Respiratory Care Program Review Presentation March 17, 2016

2 Program Description The Respiratory Care Program is designed to prepare California licensed respiratory care practitioners at the registered (advanced) respiratory therapist level. It focuses on diagnostic procedures, treatment, and management of patients with conditions affecting the cardiopulmonary system. The respiratory care practitioner works closely with the physician in assessing the patient and planning the proper respiratory care protocol. 3 Benchmarks Continued successful accreditation by our national accreditation board for Respiratory Care Programs: CoARC (Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care) Annual reports Self study reports Annual surveys of our students, graduates, employers, faculty, key personnel (medical director), and advisory board members Site visits Successful completion of mock national board exam administered in capstone course First-time pass rate on the national board exam post graduation Completion and continuation from one semester to the next
