3 Safonau Standards Ysgolion cynradd – mae safonau da mewn dros ddwy ran o dair ohonynt Ysgolion Arbennig/ Annibynnol – maent yn dal i gynnal safonau uchel Ysgolion uwchradd – mwy o arweinyddiaeth ragorol ond barnwyd hefyd fod mwy o ysgolion yn anfoddhaol Primary schools – over two thirds have good standards Special/Independent schools – still maintaining high standards Secondary schools – more excellent leadership but also more schools judged as unsatisfactory

4 Gweithgarwch Dilynol Follow up
Mae dros ddwy ran o dair o ysgolion uwchradd a bron i hanner ysgolion cynradd yn cael ymweliadau dilynol Fodd bynnag, mae’r ysgolion sydd wedi cael eu monitro wedi gwneud cynnydd cadarn eleni Over two thirds of secondary schools and nearly half of primary schools to receive follow-up visits However, those monitored have made sound progress this year

5 Standards in wellbeing
Safonau mewn lles Standards in wellbeing Mae safonau mewn lles yn parhau i fod yn gryfder mewn llawer o ddarparwyr Dywed y rhan fwyaf o ddisgyblion/dysgwyr eu bod yn teimlo’n ddiogel Dim ond digonol, neu anfoddhaol, yw lles mewn traean o ysgolion uwchradd a hanner unedau cyfeirio disgyblion Standards in wellbeing continue to be a strength in many providers Most pupils/learners say they feel safe Wellbeing is only adequate or unsatisfactory in one-third of secondary schools and half of pupil referral units

6 Presenoldeb ac ymddygiad Attendance and behaviour
Pupils’ behaviour is good or better in most primary schools In secondary schools, pupils’ behaviour is mainly good and pupils have positive attitudes towards their learning Mae ymddygiad disgyblion yn dda neu’n well yn y rhan fwyaf o ysgolion cynradd Mewn ysgolion uwchradd, mae ymddygiad disgyblion yn dda gan mwyaf ac mae agweddau cadarnhaol gan ddisgyblion tuag at eu dysgu

7 Awdurdodau lleol Local authorities
One good, 3 adequate and 4 unsatisfactory in Over the 3 year cycle a quarter of local authorities have been placed in a category causing concern Un da, 3 digonol a 4 anfoddhaol yn Dros y cylch 3 blynedd mae chwarter o’r awdurdodau lleol wedi’u gosod mewn categori sy’n peri pryder

8 Argymhellion Recommendations
Y pum prif argymhelliad o arolygiadau a gynhaliwyd rhwng : Addysgu Asesu Llythrennedd a rhifedd Cymraeg ail iaith Hunanarfarnu a chynllunio ar gyfer gwella (arweinyddiaeth) The top five recommendations from inspections taking place between : Teaching Assessment Literacy & numeracy Welsh second language Self evaluation & planning for improvement (leadership)

10 Llythrennedd a rhifedd Literacy & numeracy
Mae angen medrau llythrennedd cadarn ar ddisgyblion i’w helpu i fanteisio’n llawn ar y cwricwlwm Rhaid gosod y sylfeini ar gyfer llythrennedd a rhifedd ar draws y cwricwlwm mewn addysgu iaith a mathemateg Pupils need sound literacy skills to help them achieve full access to the curriculum Foundations for literacy and numeracy across the curriculum must be laid in teaching of language and mathematics

11 Mathemateg Mathematics Pryder ynghylch mathemateg yng nghyfnod allweddol 4 a chyn hynny Ffocws ar radd C neu uwch mewn mathemateg TGAU yng Nghymru Yr angen i gysoni’r arholiadau TGAU newydd gyda PISA Concern about mathematics at key stage 4 and before that Focus on grade C or above at GCSE mathematics in Wales The need to align the new GCSEs with PISA Working with partners Excellent schools on an improvement journey often identify that they can only improve further by working with partners In practice, schools/heads must show leadership for these partnerships to work

12 Medrau Cymraeg ail iaith Welsh second language skills
Children in the Foundation Phase make a good start in learning the Welsh language As pupils get older, their progress in learning Welsh slows down Not enough emphasis on developing Welsh language skills in the post-16 sector Mae plant yn y Cyfnod Sylfaen yn gwneud cychwyn da yn dysgu Cymraeg Wrth i ddisgyblion fynd yn hŷn, mae eu cynnydd o ran dysgu Cymraeg yn arafu Nid oes digon o bwyslais ar ddatblygu medrau Cymraeg yn y sector ôl-16
