2. Situation
Lithuania is located in the zone of excessive humidity: about 90 per cent of all the crop products are grown on the drained land. About 2.9 mill. ha of land have been drained; 2.6 mill. ha of these by drainage (86.3 per cent and 77.4 per cent of agricultural landed property respectively). The mean age of the drainage systems is more than 40 years, and most of the systems have not been renovated during that period, this is why its wear-and-tear reaches 64,5per cent (one year ago was 61). The agricultural farmland area of especially poor drainage quality reaches 222 thousand ha, or 6.6 per cent of total agricultural landed property.

3. finance applications, providing the missing funds for the benefit of the years RDP, in accordance with European transitional regulations (16,8 million €).

Natural and legal persons engaged in agricultural activity.
Eligibility conditions
1. Support is assigned to investment related with conformation of agri-environment commitments, preservation of species and biological diversity status of habitations;
2. Support is assigned to the applicant who commits to clean not less than 1 ha of reclamation ditches;
3. Assessment of the need for funds, required for the planned works of reclamation ditch cleaning is presented;
4. The applicant commits to participate in the follow-up activities of reclamation ditch cleaning, defined in the measure „Agri-environment and climate” program „Landscape management“ activity „Supervision of reclamation ditch slopes“ .
Eligible costs
1. Cutting of the bushes and other vegetation growing on the reclamation ditch slopes and clean-up works;
2. Grass mowing on reclamation ditch slopes and works of the cut grass clean-up;
3. Cleaning works of reclamation ditch bottom.
(Applicable) amounts and support rates
Intensity of support up to 100% of eligible costs.
